General Conditions ;Kurdistan Region residence card

• Age: The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• Health Test: A health test for communicable diseases, including AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, Malaria, and Bilharzia, is mandatory.
• Passport Validity: The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least six months.
• Clean Record: The applicant should not have any record of shameful acts or adverse comments against them.

Required Documents

• Passport: A valid passport with a copy of the latest entry stamp into Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
• Application Form: A completed application form.
• Residential Support: Documentation providing residential support.
• Sponsorship Letter: A support letter from the employer or sponsoring agency.
• Photographs: One or more recent photographs.
• Employment Contracts: Employment contracts may be required, particularly if the residency is tied to employment.

Specific Scenarios

• Foreign Workers: For foreigners working as domestic servants, an employment contract between the foreign labor company, the worker, and the household, approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, is required.
• Renewal: For renewal applications, the previous residency card must be presented, and the renewal should be requested before the card’s expiration date to avoid penalties.

Financial Aspects

• Fees: Fees are associated with the issuance and renewal of residency cards. These include fees for converting a visit visa to a residency card, issuing the residency card, and administrative fees.
• Late Renewal Penalty: A daily penalty is imposed for late renewal of the residency card.

   • For online applications, documents are scanned and submitted through the Kurdistan Electronic Residence System.
